ObservaMas (Observatorio del Marketing de Sucedáneos), a digital platform developed to monitor the marketing of breastmilk substitutes, was publicly launched in Argentina by Fundación SANAR. The platform includes the AI-powered Virtual Violations Detector (VIVID) and was created by a partnership between Fundación SANAR and its partners, UNICEF Argentina, and Alive & Thrive.
The launch follows a user acceptance testing workshop held last November. The workshop brought together key organizations focused on breastfeeding protection and Code monitoring, including Liga de La Leche Argentina, FLACSO, IBFAN, Fundeps Argentina, and nutrition graduate students in residency programs. Following the launch, Alive & Thrive plans to continue the partnership to generate and disseminate evidence and knowledge to support advocacy for strengthened Code legislation and implementation.
